FREE ENGINEERING TOOL / ETHERCAT

PDO size & offset calculator.

Check mapped bit lengths, byte totals and entry offsets before comparing your ESI, active assignments and application layout.

Enter one RxPDO mapping and one TxPDO mapping.

One entry per line: label, bits or label, bits, count. Blank lines and lines starting with # are ignored. Labels can include an index and subindex, such as 0x6040:00 Controlword,16.

Calculation runs in this browser. Mapping text is not submitted, stored by this tool or included in website analytics.

How to interpret the result

Each direction starts at byte 0, bit 0. Entries are packed consecutively in the listed order; a repeated entry count adds repeated fields of the specified width. Byte totals round the final bit count up to a whole byte. A start such as 2.3 means byte 2, bit 3, not a decimal byte count.

Add explicit padding entries where your device or master requires them. Calculate different Sync Managers separately. This tool does not infer application-structure padding, endianness, master IOmap placement, FMMU configuration, supported device mappings, frame overhead or expected working counters. Confirm the generated layout against your actual device configuration.
